Meet Maura Westbrook
Maura is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a double major in Management & Society and Media and Journalism with a concentration in Advertising/Public Relations. During her collegiate years, she served as the Recruitment Chair of her sorority, Alpha Phi, the Secretary of The Daily Tar Heel Board of Directors, and the Communications Chair for the UNC Senior Marshals.
She currently works as a Relationship Manager within the Strategic Accounts division of Insight Global, where she also serves as the Philanthropy Ambassador and plays on her corporate Ultimate Frisbee team.
Her community service initiative, Sisters Against Homelessness, focuses on alleviating and eradicating female homelessness. Over the past three years, Maura has led shelter drives, organized an annual fundraiser, taught enrichment classes at The Women’s Center in Raleigh, and conducted thrifting workshops in local high schools.
Maura is a certified scuba diver, has been a movie extra, and has whitewater rafted the Nantahala River. She loves thrifting, sushi, Fleetwood Mac, and anything sci-fi! In the future, she hopes to pursue a dual MBA and Juris Doctorate program.
Maura has competed in the Miss America Organization since she was 16 years old and says her favorite part is the incredible people she has met along the way who have impacted her beyond description. She is thrilled to be heading back to Miss North Carolina this year and is honored to represent Garner—A Great Place to Be!
